The Pandav Caves in Pachmarhi are a group of five ancient rock-cut caves believed to be the refuge of the Pandava brothers from the epic Mahabharata during their exileLocated on a low hill, these protected monuments are carved into sandstone and are also thought to have been used by Buddhist monks. The name Pachmarhi itself is believed to be derived from “Panch” (five) and “Marhi” (caves).
